Community Consultations

The Review of the 2010-11 Flood Warnings and Response held community consultation meetings for flood-affected communities in a number of areas between 9 March and 6 June 2011.

Due to the extent of the flood impact across the state, the review was unable to offer consultation meetings in each flood-affected area within the review’s timeframe.

Meeting locations were selected to provide the review with an opportunity to hear a broad spectrum of community knowledge and experience based on a range of flood events and flood impact across the state.

The community consultation meetings were open to those Victorians living or working in the communities directly affected by the 2010 and 2011 flood events, and provided an opportunity for individuals from flood-affected communities to discuss their experiences and views about key issues to identify the best way to manage major flood events in the future.
